Frontier Rail, Cincinnati East Terminal Railway going west from Afton Ohio to Newtown Ohio on ex Norfolk & Western Railway tracks owned by Norfolk Southern. The local freight picked up 3 empty boxcars from Huhtamaki and then went to Afton to pick up the 25 hopper cars that had been in storage there. I followed them all the way to MP13 at Broadwell Rd, Newtown, where they switched around the hopper cars and then continued west to Clare Yard in Mariemont Ohio at MP9.
You are probably asking how I was able to chase them today. I lucked into hearing them on the scanner while I was driving nearby on US50. The first thing I heard was " 2807 east at Batavia ". After going to Milford for a doctor visit and some quick shopping, I went to Afton to film them. 2807 was built in 1985 by General Motors Electro Motive Division EMD and so was 2806.
Near the end of the video you can see the CCET highrail truck. After the train went by, they got on the track at the Evans Landscaping siding and followed the train to Clare Yard. Frontier Rail is the owner and operator of Cincinnati East Terminal Railway and they lease the Peavine Line from NS. Thanks for watching! Please subscribe to Jawtooth!
