Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make a French Gimlet. This cocktail is a variation of the original Gimlet. The substitution of a London Dry style gin for Empress 1908 and an elderflower liqueur for simple syrup add floral notes and a light royal purple color which gives it a certain "je ne sais quoi" that hard to describe quality. FRENCH GIMLET

2 oz/60 ml Empress 1908 Gin
1.5 oz/45 ml Elderflower Liqueur
.5 oz/15 ml Lime Juice

Method

1. Add all of the ingredients to a shaking tin.
2. Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
3. Fine strain into a Nick & Nora glass.
4. Garnish with a lime slice.
