In ‘Bitter X Sweet’ a sparse electric guitar line is the tightrope J walks on as he crosses the abyss of a toxic relationship. Layered melodies and tender vocals give us the raw and labyrinthine complexity of a love that is rooted in emotional dependence.

His reference to ‘Under The Bridge’ by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is both tongue-in-cheek and explosively heartfelt, as ‘Bitter X Sweet’ channels all the alienation of feeling lost and confused, while conveying the exhilarating abandon with which we throw ourselves into loving things that we know are wrong.
