Not to be confused with the LFO of "Leeds Warehouse", Warp Records fame. There was much controversy back in 1990 after this track and its predecessors Brainstorm parts 1 & 2 were released by a group also calling themselves LFO!
Dubbed as the "fake" LFO, it turned out that Paul Hardcastle of "19" fame, created the tracks under the alias of Lewis Paul III.
Warp records contacted Paul to discuss the situation as they felt he was trying to cash in on the recent success of their LFO (Leeds Warehouse Mix)
To make things even more confusing, it turned out that Paul Hardcastle had released a compilation album in 1988 called "The Acid Mixes" made up entirely of his aliases, one of which was LFO, with the track "Brainstorm".
His decision to resurrect his old LFO name and re-release and remix the track in 1990 so soon after the success of the "new" LFO, could be looked on as pure coincidence or as a very smart business move on his part!
Either way most people were completely oblivious and rushed out to buy the tracks and Warp Records were not very happy!
