2020 edition of the United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR), focusing on the theme ‘Water and Climate Change’, will be released on 22 March 2020 for the World Water Day. The report is published by UNESCO on behalf of UN-Water and its production is coordinated by the UNESCO World Water Assessment Programme. Mr Gilbert F. Houngbo, the Chair of UN-Water and President of IFAD, highlights the importance to put water at the heart of climate change negotiations. Making reference to the WWDR 2020, he underlines that the report provides climate policy makers all the knowledge and tools needed to implement sustainable water policies. This World Water Day, all have a role to play and the WWDR contributes to paving the way for a sustainable future that leaves no one behind.
