You can achieve the 1 sword down of crota on the 390 difficulty by doing the following.

have one designated sword bearer (preferably hunter) aswell as either a second hunter with the golden gun + celestial nighthawk combo or any guardian with the sleeper simulant. The reason for this is due to the massive damage output either one takes out on the oversoul making it an easy task. The rest of the fireteam should have gjallahorns as their heavy weapon or at the very least a rocket with tracking to fire and kneel crota 3 times.

Your fireteam should consist of at least one titan but at least 2 is the magic number. If you have one, he will be running weapons of light, if you have two, one runs weapons and the other runs blessings.

Your fireteam should pick one tower side go out on once the encounter starts, it should be whichever side the swordbearer is comfortable taking the sword with to maximize the chances of the boomer knights only paying attention to the fireteam in the bubble and not the swordbearer.

Once you have all the details established you'll start the crota fight as normal, down the swordbearer and wait for your sword holder to give you the keyword to drop crota. Once you've dropped him for the first time, ignore
