Been messing around with trying to use kicks for various things in fencing. Kicking their sword to beat it out the way, kicking the hand out the way, seeing how I can set up head kicks. It's pretty fun. Had an idea to set up the head kick. Feint their sword to the inside then sweeping parry it, next cross parry with my dagger to lock out the right side then throw the round kick. Later I had the idea to do it to a spinning kick. Will need more work but it was fun doing that and kicking the sword out the way for parries.
I'll add the disclaimer since Denver Historical Fencing wants to try and slander the school saying I'm bullying new students and head kicking unsuspecting people. My school teaches more than just fencing; we also teach and do kickboxing and a good amount of MMA. We all agree on rule sets every time before we fight and don't do any punches or kicks with new students who have not finished the safety course. We are a martial school that does many weapons and styles of martial arts. We have anywhere from pro MMA fighters to high ranking black belts in several other styles. We like to experiment and have fun and try tons of things, some work, some don't, and everything we do is thrown with control you can see in the video he drops his guard and wouldn have been ready for the head kick so in the 2nd pass i purposly dont hit him.
