The pump is the heart of the fire engine. Understanding how the pump is designed and operates is foundational to the apparatus operator’s ability to effectively pump water on the fire ground.
All Dallas Fire-Rescue apparatus are equipped with the Waterous CMU dual stage-pump. In this lesson we discuss the design of the CM pump, and how it provides water flow to hose lines on the fire ground.
