Something I would have done differently that I didn't do in this video is use more acidic fruit and let it sit longer. I was in Whittier, California at the time of making this video, the park was closing soon, and that pomelo didn't have much fruit to it. But just something to consider if you decide to make some yourself. The acidity is what activates the charcoal by making it porous, so the more you use and the longer it sets, the better it will be. You can also boil it down, let it dry, and then store it for later. Notes: Do not use toxic wood. If you're unsure, then don't use it. A coconut shell is the preferred hardwood. Lemons and limes are the preferred fruits. Do not open the lid during the cooking process. Do not inhale the charcoal.
