A fellow radio operator brought me this NC-300 about a year ago. He had purchased it off ebay. Supposed to work fine, You guessed it NOT! The received had been subject to a high power transmitter directly applying RF to it, smoked the band switch RF coils. A very daunting repair. I have always had intensions of repairing the receiver, but other projects always got in the way. Well, its Christmas break and I thought what a better present than a working NC-300 for my buddy. So, I evaluated the situation and came up with a economical solution. Yes, it involved modification, however the time save was well worth it. The receiver is a real hot rod now, Booming AM!
