Solo with Rolo - We stayed at Hafan Y mor in our touring caravan from 11th March 2022 to 1st April 2022.
This video shows our arrival and a short tour of the 'Summit Park' touring caravan area. - including some pitches, toilet/shower block, 'dog walk', bins and recycling, and Elsan point.
Note: a place is only as good as the 'neighbours' around you and during our 20 night stay, we had three late nights due to loud music coming from one of the Static caravans that backed onto our touring area. The music and loud talking went on until 12.20am. We also had touring 'neighbours' who had their dog loose on their pitch and as they arrived and were sorting their caravan out - their dog ventured onto our pitch and proceeded to pee up our water barrel and awning. We also had our car alarm set off by two young lads playing football in the road and their ball not only hitting my car but also another car - despite my car alarm being set off their parents ignored it and didn't stop them from playing football around other caravans and cars. I believe there are 'site rules' in regards to these things however these rules were not included in the welcome pack - which just included a leaflet 'Pitch up and Unwind', a site map, and a play pass. The touring wardens were great when they were there but they did not work every day.
In general I found some days of our stay quite stressful - with the late nights, football and lose dog, there was also quite a lot of construction going on around the site. The car park area for the Ogwen beach access was not accessible due to the demolition of some of the old chalets and there was limited car parking with only one disabled space over the railway bridge for the whole of that side of the park. There was also construction going on which meant part of the 'woodland walk' was fenced off, as they are creating more static caravan pitches 'Moranedd' area. There was also construction going on around 'the Pizza Deck' where a new 'one big jump' attraction was being built. In general that was a lot of 'dumper trucks' zipping around and general heavy vehicles attending the various construction sites.
In addition the 'rock garden' area was closed off and the car park near by was being used as some sort of 'scrap yard' for caravans and old decking and steps etc. I will be posting more videos of various areas and will be showing it 'just as it is' for you to decide if it is worth a visit or not. For me it was too noisy and there was a general 'shabby' feel to the whole site. I last visited in September 2021 and there felt like a distinct 'deterioration' in the whole park since my last visit. A male touring neighbour also informed me that the sliding blots in the male toilets were missing and he had to keep the door closed using the toilet brush!
I am not sure who is responsible for the 'dog poo bins' being emptied adjacent to the coastal path but as you will see from future videos they were full and overflowing and not being emptied regularly.
