This heavy duty tech tip video is a step-by-step review on the removal, inspection, and installation of the SKF Scotseal Hybrid. Starting with a visual review of the Scotseal Hybrid removal, Mike identifies which wheel end components require inspection for burs, etching, or wear. This includes the wheel bearing, hub, and spindle. He demonstrates the correct way to remove the old wear ring as well as how to prepare the spindle for the mounting of a new SKF Scotseal Hybrid using the proper SKF installation tools.
Once the heavy duty SKF Scotseal Hybrid is properly installed, he demonstrates correct lubrication of the wheel end, including the Scotseal Hybrid, spindle, and bearing.
Mike concludes the demonstration with mounting the wheel hub, outer lubricated bearing, and the SKF lock washer. After threading the SKF spindle nut onto the spindle he demonstrates the proper and improper ways to thread the socket screws into the nut.
After the wheel end has been re-assembled, Mike briefly recaps the steps needed to finalize a wheel end assembly.
We hope you find this heavy duty technical tip helpful for performing your truck and fleet wheel end repairs. For more information about aftermarket wheel end components supplied by the part experts at SKF visit: [ Ссылка ]
