The Avant is a new aluminium endurance road bike from Orbea that is aimed to be the perfect affordable road bike for the beginner cyclist or somebody upgrading to a better road bike for the summer or a second bike for commuting and winter training.
When it comes to highlights, the Avant features an integrated cabling solution at the front which is something you only see on high-end bikes. The triple-butted frame looks just as modern as the hidden cables and there’s space for 35mm tyres and it includes mudguard mounts. There are sensible details like a threaded bottom bracket and external seat clamp.
The range starts at £939 with rim brakes and tops out at £1749 with Shimano 105 and hydraulic disc brakes. The Shimano Claris-equipped bike featured in this video costs £1159.
