Lovecraft Country’s third episode gives us a genre hop when the characters return to Chicago from Ardham. This episode 3 review will help you understand what happened. The ending may be confusing for viewers who haven’t read the book of the same name that the HBO series is based on. In this video we explain this “haunted house episode” where Leti comes into some money to buy a house. Once she settles in she has to deal with the ghosts of the past occupants, and intimidation from her racist neighbors.
This video only contains spoilers for the first three episodes, and the corresponding chapter in the book. We explain what’s happened so far with a full recap and review, but don’t spoil anything beyond that including the ending.

This video breaks down how Leti gets her house, and the part that Christina Braithwhite plays behind the scenes. We learn that Tic, Leti, and Montrose may have made it out of Ardham in one piece, but that doesn’t mean the sons of Adam aren’t still interested in them. Leti finds herself in the house of one of the group’s founders Horatio Winthrop. Tic helps her in a ritual with a medium, and in the end Letitia is able to triumph.
Based on Matt Ruff's novel of the same name, Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he meets up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
Lovecraft Country is executive produced by showrunner Misha Green along with J.J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim, and David Knoller.
