Cabernet Franc gets nowhere near the exposure that is showered on its better-known offspring, Cabernet Sauvignon. We are hoping to change that consensus one bottle at a time. This delicious medium-bodied red grape displays intriguing spice and red fruit characteristics that makes it a perfect pairing for wild game and more liberally spiced dishes. In this virtual tasting, we will show off Cabernet Franc based wines from its birthplace in France (the Chinon region in the Loire Valley), from the Finger Lakes region of New York (where Cabernet Franc has become the leading red grape variety), and Mendoza, Argentina (surprisingly, the grape has a nearly 200 year history of being grown in this Andean enclave!).
