Su Jameson's hand-built ceramic sculptures strive to create exchanges, both physical and emotional. Drawn from personal experiences, interactions and observations her work explores the complexities of being human, issues around belonging, strength and fragility, and the tools of communication.
Ceramic sculptor, Su Jameson, graduated in 1987, with a BA Hons in English and Fine Art from Exeter University. Subsequently attaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Sculpture from the City and Guilds of London Art School she had several exhibitions at London venues in the 90s including the Barbican Centre and the Boundary Gallery, whilst also working in teaching and community arts.
Su Jameson’s work can be viewed at Kellie Miller Arts, at 20 Market Street, Brighton.
Kellie Miller Arts is in the prestigious, historical heart of the Brighton Lanes area, a fitting situation for a space sympathetic to the art of story-telling.
The gallery houses local, national and international artist’s works that speak of the artistic process, where the hand of the artist can be seen. Sculptures, textured paintings, mixed media and ceramics are Kellie’s passion. Marrying different art forms allows her to present artworks that are approachable, engaging and enjoyable.
