A street vendor, Dara, with talent for dancing, is shocked to discover that Pisey, a 10-year-old girl and his next-door-neighbour, needs a serious operation or she will die. But her family has no money to pay for the treatment. Dara sets about trying to raise the money to save her life. But many obstacles – including a prison sentence for accidentally hitting a policeman, fiancé of Kanha, Pisey’s nurse (with who Dara has fallen in love) – are in Dara’ path.
