Stop chasing launch angle and be persistent with bat path/plane. Having a proper bat plane will allow for more adjustability during your swing. If your bat plane is following the same path of the ball you can be late, on time, or early with your swing and still have a great chance at producing a hard hit line drive. Launch angle is for statcast, fans, graphics, and just another metric for announcers to talk about. Launch angle is simply the angle in which the ball leaves the bat, which has nothing to do with your swing but all about where the two round objects intersect or make contact with each other. You can have a chop down swing and hit the ball up or you can swing up and hit the ball down. Either way, creating launch angle only has to do with where the bat makes connection with the ball. At Full Count Instruction we focus on controlling the process and not the results. Bat path/plane is of upmost importance when in the hitting zone.
