Experienced Naturopathic Doctors (at least 2-3 years into practice) typically have 6-7 one hour appointments in their day. As a ND with only one year of experience, my typical "good day" is when I have 4 to 5 appointments booked. Today I only had one appointment booked on my schedule and these slow days can be discouraging. Sometimes I feel like I am not good enough, sometimes I wonder if I am providing the best care for my patients etc...
Starting a Naturopathic Practice, is like starting up any other kind of business. You start as a nobody, and over time people slowly begin to know you exist. It is a slow and humbling start. I am trying not to judge myself for having a slow day. I know that this is part of the process of growing a clinic/business. I will always be incredibly thankful for the patients that I do see who trust in my abilities to help them. I will always try to use my down time to read, learn, and continue to improve myself to help others. I will always try my best to not let discouraging thoughts and feelings keep me from moving forward.
