This will be my first upload and I just wanted to share my setup that I hope I will be able to use a lot this summer after a rough year of teaching during a pandemic. The possibilities of making projects with friends excites me and I hope I can also carry this over into the next school year with my students with my students. Who knows, maybe even a club! I hope my oversight can give some insight on how much effort it can take to complete projects.
I start of with the Coles Electroacoustics 4104 microphone which I got a killer deal on at Guitar Center; I noticed it was microphone they used on Sky Sports fútbol games with the likes of Gary Neville and Martin Tylor and even Lester Holt.
Move on to the case CBL-8 w/accessories including a cool StarTech cable that's right-angled right to use either with a old Akers power bank to record remotely or Apple's USB3 to lightning cable adapter which can record into an old iPad mini or my iPhone (first world problems aye?) but would also be remote or (this one's big) I can connect it to my old Surface Pro 2 (4th gen i5 with 128GB Windows 10) which I bought in my sophomore or junior year of college so I could use it when as a teacher.
I am planning on using that as my ultimate portable set-up because no DAW needs that much power. If that's not enough I can also power the L-8 remotely by using my new Panasonic Eneloop AA batteries (bought 12 so that's at least 6-8 hours); they also recharge. It's overkill but I suppose I justify it as wanting to be as efficient as possible. I am learning that if I want to do this I want to go all out.
We finally a look at the Zoom LiveTrak L-8 which was a mixer I purchased because of the aforementioned product ideas one of which I am currently writing.
