Manchester United took control of the match, scoring three goals in eight minutes in the first half. Carrick, Smith, and Rooney were the authors of the goals. Cristiano Ronaldo also played brilliantly, scoring two goals. Roma managd to respond with one goal from Daniele De Rossi, but the victory was already out of reach. Manchester United played an impressive game.
