STORYLINE
COTILLARD LIGHTS UP CHAMPS ELYSEES
French actress Marion Cotillard and Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe bid welcome to the winter holidays this year with the annual lighting of the Champs Elysees.
The event has become a yearly tradition in Paris.
This year the press came out in droves to witness Cotillard, whose Oscar-award winning performance as Edith Piaf in 'La Vie en Rose', also known as 'La Mome' has made her an international star, press the button that lit the Champs Elysees on Wednesday night (19 NOV 2008).
Many other Paris landmarks, such as the Arc du Triomphe and the Paris Ferris Wheel were also illuminated by thousands of white and blue lights.
