I'm having a lot of fun with this game.
Now that I'm a bit farther in the game, I feel pretty comfortable recommending this game to people who are big on the older turn-based RPGs. It definitely captures that gameplay, and the aesthetic and writing are strong enough to stand on their own too.
As for the difficulty, it's a bit on the higher side as far as turn-based RPGs go. Enemy damage tuning is pretty high so you'll find yourself taking a lot of damage when you first unlock a new area or fight a boss. Thankfully by the end of the first chapter, party-wide healing is pretty abundant, and you aren't really starved for resources, so although stuff hurts, its entirely possible to heal through.
The Sweetheart boss fight is pretty straightforward. She locks herself into happy and spams party-wide attacks. The most dangerous one also changes everyone's emotion to angry. It's important to have Omori maintain his speed debuff via Trick to ensure that your party can heal reactively to incoming damage and reset emotions after her party wide OHOHO attack. In terms of priority, Omori and Kel need to be made sad first since they're the most likely to get randomly one-shot by a mace crit. Aubrey and Hero are both tanky enough to eat one clean hit so they can remain angry for an additional turn.
