This is my favorite prayer to say before bed.
The Nunc Dimittis, also known as the Canticle of Simeon, quotes holy Simeon when he encounters the infant Jesus at the Presentation in the Temple. It is recorded in Luke 2:29–32. The Nunc Dimittis is traditionally chanted as part of Night Prayers (Compline) in the Liturgy of the Hours. It's especially appropriate for the feast of Saint Luke on October 18.

"Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles and to be the glory of thy people Israel."
