Crafted from old growth Sinker Mahogany cut between 1880 and 1920 in Belize, this Martin Custom Shop D-18 flawlessly captures the spirit of Martin’s “Golden Era” pre-war instruments. When these trees were cut over 100 years ago in Central America, they were then floated down rivers to the sawmills. In the process, nearly one third of the wood sank to the bottom of the river and were never recovered (hence the name “sinker”).
