In Romania and Moldova, Frontex standing corps officers work at border crossing points to help their colleagues with border checks and detection of cross-border crime.
They come from different EU countries and represent various profiles.
They help to check passengers and vehicles, but are also trained to spot potential cases of trafficking in human beings and vulnerable groups.
The officers also help the authorities in managing the arrival of refugees from Ukraine – since the start of the war, already 6 million people fled the country.
