Family and friends held a candlelight vigil for a 46-year-old Seattle man, Che Taylor, on Monday, February 22, a day after he was fatally shot by police. Seattle Police said Taylor was a felon illegally armed with a handgun and had been convicted of assault, robbery and rape. However, Seattle-King County NAACP President Gerald Hankerson described Taylor as well-known in the community and deeply beloved.

Police said officers fired shots because Taylor reached for his handgun. Dashcam footage showing the scene was released on Monday.
