On today's Los Angeles day trip, we went to Joshua tree. We took the most popular hiking trail: Hidden Valley Nature Trail. It is about 1 mile loop. Pretty flat ground and there are plenty of rock exhibits to climb or photograph along the way. It’s not a long trail but it’s the desert so it’s hot and there are rocks to play with and delay your trip, so expect to spend longer than you normally would on a normal 1 mile hike.
A little info: Entrance is $35 per car and the pass lasts 7 days, or free if you have a National Park Pass. Restrooms are available but there is no sink to wash your hands so make sure to bring wet wipes just in case.
