An original organ composition telling the story of Paolo Veronese's painting, "The Wedding Feast at Cana" (1563). The painting resides at the Louvre in Paris and is enormous in size and detail (22′ 3″ x 32′ 0″). Veronese's work depicts the biblical story in which Jesus converts water to wine at a wedding feast in Cana.

COMPOSER'S NOTES: Given the massive scope of this painting both in terms of size, subjects, and story, I had to go for something equally big to match. More than the story of a wedding day, it's the miracle of Jesus Christ turning water into wine. I carefully engineered the organ sounds to sound as big and organic as possible as if you were sitting inside a great cathedral. The theme tells a story of this solemn and sacred moment with a bittersweet turn or two. The pieces conveys the gravity of commitment and humanity turning to sheer awe as Jesus and Mary are revealed.

Given the surplus of narratives in a painting of this size, I knew I needed to compose a piece as soon as I stood before it in the Louvre.

In my early days as a composer, before getting involved in independent film composing, I would often flip through an over-sized art book I owned selecting paintings for which I would create musical stories.
