Ludwig the Accursed is the first boss in the Bloodborne Old Hunters DLC and man he is hard as F#$%.

When you get to his second form he changes to Ludwig, the Holy Blade. You can take him on solo but I would recommend you summon Valtr, Master of the League Covenant as he can help you with this tough battle. Valtr doesn't do much damage but he can act as a good decoy.

After this battle you acquire the Holy Moonlight Sword. Just kill the head after the battle.

In order for you to summon Valtr Master of The League Covenant for the fight you must have the Impurity rune equipped. Then you can summon him next to the crows outside of the first boss area.

Ludwig Strategy & Tips:

He's one of the most violent bosses in the game, leaving little to no space for you to breathe, which means most of the fight will consist of you crazily dodging him. Use the best stamina rune you have

Staying under him is a more or less safe tactic, as some of his attacks will usually miss you

His sides (mainly his left one) are quite vulnerable; some good hits there will make them bleed badly and the boss will be stunned for some seconds

Weak against bolt damage, as Bolt Paper and Fire Paper largely deals the same amount of damage on a quality build character.

Saw weapons are recommended as he is classified as a 'Beast' enemy.
