It may only be mid-May, but we are already planning our range of Christmas 2021 limited edition soaps. We sell wholesale to many shops in our local area and many of these shops will be beginning to choose their Christmas stock lines from June. We want to make sure that we have a range of products that they can choose from, so we need to decide on our Christmas lines now!

We have already designed our Christmas soaps for 2021. We are in the process of making custom moulds to create some embeds and we are finalising colours and scents for each design.

We have a wide range of Christmas fragrances which we have purchased from Candle Shack and would love to use in our soaps. However, these are new fragrances that we have not used before. So today, we will be testing these fragrances in a small amount of soap. The purpose of this is to assess whether the fragrance oil causes the soap batter to seize, rice, accelerate or discolour. We will be recording our results and monitoring the soap as it cures over the next 4 weeks and we will then be able to select the best behaving fragrances for use in our Christmas soaps.

We will also be testing out some Mica powders from Resin8 to see if the colours stay true in cold process or if they change or morph at all.

We thought we would share this process with you, so that you can see what goes on behind the scenes when planing and designing a new range of soaps.
