To confirm whether a person is pregnant or not with a missed period, you just have to go ahead and do a pregnancy test. Now the pregnancy test can be a urine pregnancy test or blood tests. In both these tests, we look for a hormone called as beta HCG that is Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. So in blood tests any value can be picked up. Anything more than 5, we have to look forward to a pregnancy. In a urine pregnancy test any value of beta HCG more than 25 can be picked up. So basically just do a urine or blood pregnancy test. That is enough to confirm a pregnancy. That is what is done when there is a missed period when you are anxious about a pregnancy.
