Beryl has moved towards the Gulf of Mexico and is projected to reach Texas by late July 6th. Earlier, Beryl hit Mexico's top beach destinations with strong winds and heavy rain. However, it was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm. Beryl crossed the Yucatan Peninsula with winds slowing to 105 KPH. The storm caused destruction in the Caribbean earlier in the week. Scientists expect it to intensify as it moves into the Gulf, possibly regaining hurricane status by Sunday and approaching the western Gulf coast.
