As many as 10 pilgrims returning from the Amarnath Yatra were injured when they jumped out of a moving bus after the driver informed them about the failure of its brakes.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.
The bus, carrying about 40 pilgrims returning to Hoshiarpur in Punjab, failed to stop at Nachlana near Banihal due to brake failure, according to officials.
However, the bus was stopped by army and police personnel, thus averting a potential accident along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the officials added.
Three women and a child were among the ten injured when several bus occupants jumped out of the moving vehicle.
