In this video, we review and drive our new Rovan Baja 5B 1/5th scale gasoline RC car. It has a 29cc 2-stroke gasoline engine and comes stock with a large expansion chamber, and it is QUITE loud. I run non-oxygenated gasoline in a 25:1 mixture as recommended by Rovan. I replaced the cheap and untrustworthy stock radio system with my Spektrum DX5C and a Spektrum receiver. So far it's held up very well, my only complaint is the pull-start quality. It sometimes skips or jumps and it makes some strange sounds. Other than that this is a great vehicle, and it's a blast to drive. If you want to see a bashing video, watch the next upload. Enjoy the video!
Update 1/15/2021: Touching on the quality of the pull-start, the stock pull-start pawl broke in the late summer after not a whole lot of use. I bought a new pull-start off eBay from a random seller and the new one's pawl broke almost immediately, after less than 10 pulls. I contacted the seller to make a return, and they kindly offered to send me another new one without having to return the broken one, free of charge. This newest pull-start seems to be holding up much better than the previous two. I did notice they sell aluminum starter pawls online so if I have this issue again, I'm just going to purchase the aluminum one.
