A rare Halloween Blue Micro Moon rising above Fish Hoek on the 31st October 2020 - last seen in 1944 and the next will occur in 2039.
A 'blue moon' refers to the second full moon within a single calendar month - the South African astronomical heritage name for a rare second full moon during the month of October is the Elephant moon.
A 'micro moon' is when a full moon or new moon coincides with apogee - the point in the moon's orbit farthest away from Earth.
