Greetings, in this Unity tutorial we shall be looking at how to import an animation from Mixamo into Unity and seeing that Mixamo animation run in Unity.

All you need to use Mixamo is an adobe account. This is free. All Mixamo animations are free.

Firstly, we upload our FBX file of our model that we want to animate to Mixamo, this is an optional step but it allows us to preview what an animation will look like on our model.

Once we found a Mixamo animation we like, we can download it. Make sure to select fbx as the download file format and select 60fps as the frame rate (unless you want a lower fps).

Now, we need to import the Mixamo animation into Unity. Drag and drop the Mixamo animation into Unity, we need to select the Mixamo animation and in the import settings, go to the rig tab and set the animation type to humanoid.

Next we are going to make a duplicate copy of the animatin in our Mixamo FBX file. This way we get a copy of the Mixamo animation out of our fbx file. We can then delete the fbx file we downloaded from Mixamo.

And hook up your animation to an animation tree or whatever you want to use to play it and voila, you have a Mixamo animation in Unity.
