Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a gastrointestinal disease in the U.S. that affects roughly 1 out of every 10 people. Signs of IBS include Bloating, Constipation and Diarrhea. The most common symptom is severe abdominal pain.
Diagnosing Irritable Bowel Syndrome begins with your medical history, and this can also rule out other conditions such as Celiac Disease. Blood and stool tests are performed to help diagnose IBS and rule out other conditions. In some cases, your doctor may recommend a colonoscopy.
