The latest post by NRMP reads Step 2 CS was never required for an applicant to sit for the match. For AMGs, they'll have to fulfill the criteria laid down by Respective medical school and for IMGs, they'll have to meet educational/examination requirement set by the ECFMG to gain their certification.
Take Home Message: It was mandatory for IMGS to take CS to initiate process for ECFMG certification. Now that CS has been suspended, ECFMG will come up with newer norms for IMG to get an ECFMG certification.
Step 2 CS is canceled for 12 - 18 months, and it is definitively going to affect the IMG's, but in this video, I am going to provide my rationale as to how we can still stand our ground and compensate for not being able to appear for this exam.
