Deserted Alvor beach in this new era of a pandemic, is the place where one of our famous kings lived and died, D. Joao II, King John II, the Perfect Prince. He died at age 40 without legitimate children. Despite his attempts to have his son Jorge, Duke of Coimbra, succeed him, he was succeeded by his first cousin Manuel I of Portugal.
