In class today I was showing the class how to perform a drive cycle on a failed smog inspection. The O2 sensor monitor wouldn't run and a few smog stations tried to get it to pass.
I showed the students how to perform a drive cycle on the dyno. This is the smog repair class I teach at Abram Friedman Occupational in downtown Los Angeles.
A drive cycle is a series of driving 🚘 conditions that allows the computer system to check the emission control components to confirm they are working.
My smog repair class consists of students who are trying to get their smog repair license or renewing their existing smog repair license.
Our smog class consists of live smog repairs from the public so when the customer told us she was having problems passing the vehicle for the smog inspection we took it in to try to help her pass the smog check inspection.
How to pass the smog inspection, you will need to know how the system work, and sometimes its a fight on some of these cars to try to get the monitors to run.
