Time in a Box is a box full of activity idea starters for kids and parents to do together. There are 96 activity cards divided into four seasons: winter activities, autumn activities, spring activities, and summer activities. (There are 24 activity cards per season.) Activities range from playing a board game to going to the bookstore to planning a summer trip together. Because Time in a Box is all about getting kids and parents to spend time together without the distractions of daily life or technology, the box also includes a Time in a Box agreement that parent and child must sign stipulating that when a child chooses a card, the parent will do his or her very best to do the activity with the child on the same day. The agreement also states that no cell phones are allowed and that no activities can be completed until other activities such as homework or chores are done.
