This real size simulation demonstrates a scenario in which a 152mm artillery round fired from the Russian self-propelled howitzer MSTA-S hit the turret of the US M1 Abrams tank.
The 2S19 MSTA-S is a 152mm self-propelled howitzer designed and manufactured by Uraltransmash in the Soviet Union and later in Russia, which entered service in 1989 as the successor to the 2S3 Akatsiya. The vehicle has the running gear of the T-80, but is powered by the T-72's diesel engine. It has a maximum firing range of approximately 24.7 kilometers (which can be extended up to 29 kilometers with rocket-assisted projectiles)
There is visual evidence of a western tank and infantry fighting vehicle that has been destroyed by a direct hit from 152mm Russian artillery during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
