The 1978 Chevrolet Monza Super Spyder model kit is a simple build with simple features.
Right away the builder is assembling the 9 piece Chevrolet 454 c. i. engine block which consists of 9 pieces - Left and right engine block/transmission pieces, cylinder heads/intake manifold/carburetor, air cleaner, chrome valve covers, exhaust manifolds, fan belt/alternator/pulleys and chrome clutch fan.
The chassis and suspension components consists of very few parts including a full frame, rear differential/leaf springs/brake backing plate, differential top, shocks, king pin with disk brakes, springs, lower A-Arms with brace, and a chassis pan. you also get a pair of chrome exhaust pipes with mufflers.
Wheels consist of 2-piece tires, your choice of wheels, retaining clip and chrome wheel backs. The wheels glue onto the axles using a retaining clip which glues onto the axle ends. Make sure you scrape the seam lines on the axles or your wheels will lock into place and not rotate on the axle.
Next we build the 11-piece interior which consists of an interior tub with a spare tire mounted in the trunk area with a hole in it for your choice of wheel centers, floor and door panels molded in place. The model includes a pair of 2-piece bucket seats, a three piece roll bar, gear selector level, dashboard, and steering wheel. This assembly then drops onto the chassis pan. This is followed by installing the glass into the roof of the car.
To finish off the outside of the car, Revell provides a cool front end, window louvers, special rear bumper, hood with scoop, twin racing mirrors, side exhaust dumps, rear spoiler and some very accurate gold, white and neon Super Spyder decals.
