So let’s talk about burning desires!
The idea that having a burning desire is the number 1 thing you need in order to effectively manifest everything is not new. Most people got this idea from a book called “Think And Grow Rich”, written by Napoleon Hill. In “Think And Grow Rich”, Hill talks about how a burning desire is an essential for success.
On the other hand though, other spiritual teachers over the centuries have insisted that desire is the root of all suffering, and that we should do away with desire altogether.
So which is actually true? What would Neville say?
Well, first of all, let’s look into what it means to have a burning desire. Can you think of a time in your life when you had such a white-hot burning desire? Maybe it was a specific person you were really really in love with. Or maybe it was that car you wanted to buy.
So what happens when we have a burning desire for something? We are incredibly motivated to do anything it takes to get it, right? People fall in love and then spend months at the gym daily to get in shape and impress their specific person, or work long hours or even find a second job to get that car or that house or whatever it is they have a burning desire for.
So in that sense, a burning desire CAN get you results, because it motivates you like nothing else!
But we aren’t talking about taking action in order to get something here. We are talking about manifesting something. So, is a burning desire equally useful when we are talking about manifestation?
To answer that, let’s take a look at what it means to have such a strong desire, and what happens when you do:
So you have a desire. Let’s go with the example of a car. You can a white-hot, burning desire for a car. You really really WANT to have that car!
Now let’s take a look at the most effective way to manifest something:
First, you identify what you want to manifest.
Then, you construct a scene in your mind, where your desire has already come to pass. Where it’s already yours.
And finally, you live from the end result, as if what you’re manifesting is already yours.
And here is the problem with the whole idea of a burning desire...
