Dum Dum Da Dum, Dum Dum Da Dum.
Your girl is getting married!!! (in 2 years) For some random reason, I really wanted to remake a wedding dress. Turning a vintage wedding dress into something new is something I’ve always wanted to do. I was starting to feel like I needed a random and time-consuming project to distract me from my anxiety. I found this dress for $17 at my local Salvation Army, after searching through all the overpriced Value Village’s in my area.
What did you think of my dress? Leave me a comment below and let me know if you loved it as much as I do.
I was inspired by beautiful wedding dress designers like: Watters, Maggie Sottero and Eve of Milady. But then I check the price tags on their dresses, starting at $4000?! And the one that is my dream dress is over $5000?! Oh no honey, we do not have the budget for that, not for this for fun bridal moment.
I wanted to recreate some aspects of their dresses when I made my own dream wedding dress. So, I spent hours sewing and stitching the lace to the dress. In total, the DIY of my dream wedding dress took me about 30 hours total.
Recreating a used wedding dress by hand totally transformed my vibe and outlook on the big day. I hope that you loved my design and ideas. I hope you feel inspired and learned how to make your own wedding dress.
