Noa Tarlovsky // Garden of Eden
graduation collection 2020 - b.de fashion Shankar college
My collection “garden of eden”, will make you forget about the
grim reality of our day to day life by diving into the happiest memories of summers I spent in my grandmother's wild cacti garden in the desert town of Arad.
My grandmother admired the prickly plant, the architecture nature created. this magical world she created in her yard was nothing less of a living enterprise. This garden was my biggest inspiration while working on the collection.
I sampled colors, textures, shapes and stories from the garden that are expressed in a campy collection full of humor with occasional thorns of sadness.
I chose to base my garments on popular clothing we all know and filter it through my theatrical perspective on the world.
A denim jacket grew knitted cacti, fringe pants that move in a glittering frenzy or a blossoming flower dress, are some of the “normal” clothes I found researching my grandmother's pioneering past. This strange mix transformed and grew into a collection that is essentially my colorful and magical childhood landscape.
