This animation shows one of the three cases that can lead to skipped stitches in a chainstitch seam.
In chain stitch, the needle thread and the looper thread form a triangle in which the needle penetrates. If the needle penetrates in front of the looper thread and thus in front of the thread triangle, this results in a skipped stitch – as shown in this animation.
