The submarine fleet is one measure of the strength of a country's Navy. Russia is a country that is known to have the latest military technology, especially in its naval fleet, even today Russia still operates the Dmitry Donsky nuclear submarine which is the largest submarine in the world. Measuring 175 meters, 25 meters wide, and manned by 160 people, this ship has been operating since 1980. As well as being large and nuclear-powered, the Dmitry Donskoy submarine also has 20 ballistic missile launch tubes that can be launched from underwater. Despite being 40 years old, this submarine has undergone several upgrades.
