A visit to Emeishan was a big mistake. Is this the best hiking place near Chengdu? Mount Emeishan 峨嵋山, a secret place in China. I wonder if you can go hiking near Chengdu. It is also a very holy place. However be aware before you decide to visit this place, that you make sure this is the right place for you to visit. It isn't too far from Chengdu to reach and give you the opportunity of hiking. At least that is what I thought.

Emeishan has some tricky bits and if you do the same as us, emeishan might surprise you and can even ruin your trip.

Mount Emei shan is a secret spot in China. It is a mountain near Chengdu, and you could go for hiking here. Not that many non Chinese tourists are visiting this place. However there is maybe a reason for this.

While this place could look really attractive online, be aware what you are getting into. Is this a day trip for you from Chengdu? Especially if you are here for hiking on emeishan or if you are a budget traveller.
